I was an undiagnosed teen with ADHD... a very high iq, test-taking ninja who couldn't complete a homework assignment to save my life. Growing up being placed in all of the "gifted"programs, with a less than impressive GPA... except during softball season when I knew I had to make all my grades to stay eligible. (I actually got an academic scholarship to my university based on my SAT alone. lol)
It was a very difficult time always being asked, "you obviously know this stuff! Why don't you do the work?" when you know you're smart, it is very tough having to answer that question over and over and over with these three words, "I DON'T KNOW." but, I am one strong woman from all of that and all of the other stuff that accompanied not being diagnosed until after I graduated with my degree from college.
